About the Position
As the Lecturer in Screen and Media, you will be responsible for the delivery of teaching and assessments for the Academy of the Arts’ courses in Screen and Media across Degree-level units, VET certificate level and short courses, including the Bachelor of Creative Arts major in Screen Media Arts and Certificates in Creative Industries and Screen and Media. The position teaches storytelling, digital design and production skills for screen and digital media as applied to media, communications, and film, television, radio, gaming, and animation sectors.
The lecturer will be responsible for facilitating students’ learning and assessment, attending student and industry enquiries, and assisting in marketing the relevant courses. The position may be required to undertake some teaching in remote Indigenous communities which involves engaging with the local community, contributing to youth programs and short courses, and working with local screen, media, design and education organizations to assist with workforce development
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience as a professional screen and/or digital media practitioner or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training. Specialist skills in two or more digital media or screen arts disciplines, which may include experience in film, television, radio, broadcast, animation and/or online platforms.
- Current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required.
- Demonstrated experience providing education and training either within a workplace setting or educational institution.
- Experience in researching and developing training tools to meet needs.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders (including community centres, industry partners, stakeholders, and government departments).
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team, with proven organizational, time management and administrative skills to support course delivery.
- Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software database packages
Desirable competencies
- Experience in working in a dual sector teaching and culturally diverse environment.
- Knowledge and experience using online learning systems and/or experience in developing learning and teaching curriculum and content.
- Formal teaching qualifications.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 - $114,924 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89,626 - $134,594 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation.
