Jumbo Skip Bins and Moreton Bay Recycling are seeking an experienced and self-driven Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Fitter to join our repairs and maintenance team, taking care of our diverse fleet across two growing, successful, and fast-paced businesses.

This is more than just a workshop role — it’s an opportunity to step into a position that will gain experience in crushing and screening plant, various on-road vehicles, earthmoving gear, abd recycling plant. You’ll work both in the field and in the yard, servicing and maintaining the fleet to ensure optimum performance of the operations.

We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who is proactive, organised, and confident working independently — a professional who takes pride in quality, uptime, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and machinery.

Respond to breakdowns and field service requests.

Work closely with fleet manager /senior fitter and operations managers to prioritise maintenance activities and ensure equipment uptime.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment and uphold workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

Work alongside the R&M team, consisting of a fleet manager/senior fitter, an experienced boilermaker, apprentice fitter, and trade assistants.

Your Background:

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic / Fitter working on trucks and/or heavy earthmoving equipment

Hands-on experience with mobile crushing and screening equipment is desirable, but not essential.

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Confident working independently

Well-organised with a strong focus on safety and record keeping

Own general tool kit (some specialised tools and equipment provided)

HR Licence, welding, and oxy cutting skills are advantageous.

Location: Narangba, QLD (with local travel to site as required)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
