Anglicare WA is a highly regarded not for profit organisation, delivering a diverse range of community services throughout Western Australia. Anglicare WA is a partner in Foyer Oxford, the largest single site homelessness service for young people in Australia. Foyer Oxford provides young people who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness, with self-contained transitional housing for up to two years. Foyer Oxford offers stable accommodation and personalised case management support to assist young people to remain engaged in full time education, training and employment and to develop skills to transition into living independently in the community.

About the role

You will work with young people who reside at, or are seeking to reside at, Foyer Oxford. You will deliver a high quality case management service, embracing contemporary approaches that meet the needs of the young people you will work with. You will contribute to the strong culture of advocacy at Foyer Oxford and will empower young people to transition to independence.

This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week). There will be a requirement to work evenings, (12- 8pm) twice a week, plus one Saturday every 6 weeks.

About you

You are an experienced youth worker looking to join a high performing team. You are passionate about delivering quality case management and support incorporating approaches that are person centred, strengths based and trauma informed.

To achieve success in the role you will:

  • hold a diploma or tertiary level qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or a related discipline (as specified by membership requirements of Youth Work WA)
  • be suitably experienced in case management
  • have highly developed communication skills
  • have demonstrated ability to engage and build strong relationships with and motivate ‘at risk’ young people.
  • embrace a culture of diversity and inclusion
  • have an ability to set personal limits
  • have up to date knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including education, training and employment
  • have an understanding of youth housing and accommodation systems

The successful candidate must also possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a valid Working With Children Check, a valid Provide First Aid Certificate and a WA Drivers Licence.

A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we review any disclosures on an individual basis, focusing on relevance to the role.

Impact and benefits

Sharing your knowledge, skills and experience, you will make an impact to the lives of young people and our communities across the state.

In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity and best practice.

Also:

  • A competitive salary from $86,950.50 per annum + 12% superannuation
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
  • Additional 3 days leave per year over festive period
  • Work-life friendly working conditions
