Operations Manager - Food and Beverage – Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel

Lead the relaunch of one of Queensland's most iconic coastal venues

Are you a hands-on hospitality leader with a passion for food, service, and people?
Moreton Hospitality is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily operations and guest experience at the newly refurbished Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel (SIBH) — one of Queensland's most recognisable coastal destinations.

This role is your chance to shape standards, systems, and culture from the ground up as the venue reopens. You'll take full ownership of the day-to-day service, lead and develop your team, and collaborate closely with the General Manager, Head Chef, Duty Managers and the Precinct Bar Manager to deliver seamless island hospitality.

About the Venue

Perched above the iconic Cylinder Beach, SIBH is more than a pub — it's the island's flagship hospitality precinct. Following a major renovation, the hotel will feature:

A refreshed Bistro with expansive indoor and outdoor dining

Four distinct bars and a gaming lounge

Modern event and function spaces

Onsite guest accommodation

Three bottle shops across the island

SIBH has long been a cornerstone of the local community and a must-visit for holidaymakers. With its new look and expanded capabilities, it's set to redefine coastal dining in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

As Operations Manager, reporting directly to General Manager you will:

Lead and manage all operations, ensuring smooth, high-standard service across all shifts.

Train, coach, and motivate your team to deliver warm, professional, guest-focused service.

Partner with the Head Chef and GM on menus, promotions, and initiatives that drive sales and guest satisfaction.

Manage financial performance including labour efficiency, stock control, and cost of goods.

Oversee small to medium scale functions in collaboration with the events team, ensuring they run smoothly within Bistro operations.

Maintain compliance and presentation standards in line with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.

Build guest loyalty through genuine engagement and consistently memorable dining experiences.

What We're Looking For

5+ years' experience leading a high volume food and beverage operation.

Strong leadership and communication skills — capable of developing a high-performing team.

Proven understanding of cost control, rostering, and operational reporting.

Excellent knowledge of modern Australian food and beverage trends, with solid wine and service knowledge.

Hands-on approach and the confidence to lead from the floor.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
