Your new company

South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services are aimed at producing a safe and peaceful environment by the minimisation of crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation which, because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24 hour a day basis.

The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs.

Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives. This full portfolio has been broken into three sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes, including the Mobility Portfolio, in which this position is located.

The Mobility Portfolio is responsible for the delivery of 2 flagship Programs; the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP), which is focused on delivering personally issued mobile devices provisioned with full frontline capability, and the Digital Workforce Program (DWP), which will rollout digital innovation across SAPOL. Together, these programs represent an enterprise multi-year technology transformation program that will usher in SAPOL's future workplace and deliver IT solutions for next generation policing.

Your new role

The Senior Developer will report to the Lead Developer within the Mobility Portfolio and will contribute to the development and maintenance of secure, high-quality custom software solutions. The role involves

Designing and developing and maintaining web applications using Angular for the front-end and .NET for the backend

Integrating front-end components with RESTful APIs and backend services to ensure seamless functionality.

Collaborating with business analysts, other software developers and UI/UX designers to deliver high-quality solutions

Ensuring high performance, scalability and security of applications.

Maintaining code quality, organisation, documentation and automation.

What you'll need to succeed

Deliver exemplary technical expertise and hands-on development.

Proven experience in full-stack software development including secure coding practices, DevSecOps, cloud-based architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.

Proficiency in Angular, C#.NET Core, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and Git.

Experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.

Knowledge of ITIL service management processes and SDLC principles.

Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to present application-based solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to produce technical documentation.

Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary

ASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.
