Your Role as a Registered Nurse
As a Registered Nurse you will provide holistic, person-centred care that supports the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of customers. You will use best-practice approaches (such as the Eden framework) to promote independence and achieve quality care outcomes. The role also involves coordinating with kitchen and housekeeping teams to maintain a safe, clean, and timely service environment. You’ll deliver person-centred clinical services across a community aged care setting.
You’ll empower individuals to live more independently, safely, and meaningfully by:
Ensuring the right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality are respected and role model ethical care that addresses the diversity of customers.
Actively listening to and addressing the needs and concerns of at home aged care community clients, ensuring their preferences are respected and incorporated into care plans.
Ensure clear, compassionate, and professional communication with community clients and their families, to ensure optimal customer experience and satisfaction.
Conducting thorough and competent holistic assessments, care planning, direct nursing care and review care using a biopsychosocial model to optimise customers independence, wellbeing and provide comfort at the end of life.
Provide workplace coaching, guidance and supervision to Personnel Carers, Assistant in Nursing and Enrolled Nurses, and act as a role model for practice and professional conduct.
Continue to develop knowledge and skills in specialty care (including but not limited to aged care, young adults, people with significant disability, palliative care, pain, wound management, infection control).
Be able to prioritise your workload safely and efficiently with focus on customers. Work with CN/CNCs/AMs and the Manager to investigate and process any complaints in accordance with organisation policy.
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing practice with an understanding of contemporary nursing theory and care documentation models.
Generalist registered nursing experience with knowledge of aged care highly desirable.
Ability to lead a care team to provide coordinated care using a biopsychosocial model of care.
Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, including team building and day to day management.
Commitment to the professional development of self and others, including the ability to develop and foster an understanding, commitment to the principles of continuous improvement and person-centred care.
A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!
Current Queensland Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
