Workforce International is looking for a Labourer to work for one of our government clients located in Thornleigh. This role is working part of a multi skilled and multifunctional team undertaking a broad variety of waste and cleansing operational duties for street sweeping/blowing, cleaning of public places and council assets, litter collection, illegal dumping clean-ups, community recycling centres and general activities as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Sweeping & Blowing:
Operate mechanical street sweepers and blowers to clean roads, kerbs, gutters, car parks, and public areas in accordance with daily schedules and reactive work requests.

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct daily pre-start checks, basic maintenance, cleaning, and minor servicing of vehicles and plant. Report any defects or safety concerns promptly.

Public Space Cleansing:
Carry out litter removal, pavement blowing, high-pressure and steam cleaning, spill clean-ups, and cleaning of street furniture, signs, and other public assets.

Public Toilet Cleaning:
Clean and restock public amenities to a high standard, ensuring all hygiene and safety protocols are followed. Includes periodic deep cleans and graffiti removal.

Manual Labour Tasks:
Perform hand sweeping, debris removal, and tasks in areas inaccessible to machinery. Empty bins, remove dumped rubbish, and keep cleansing depots tidy.

Community Recycling Centre Support:
Provide relief staffing at CRCs as required, assisting customers, handling materials safely, and performing light yard maintenance.

Reporting & Administration:
Use mobile devices and manual records to report maintenance issues, complete cleaning logs, and update schedules.

About You:

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain the following within their probation period:

NSW Class C Driver Licence (required immediately)

MR Driver Licence – within 6 months

White Card – within 3 months

Traffic Control Certification – within 3 months

First Aid Certificate – within 6 months

Forklift Licence – within 6 months

The ideal candidate will have experience operating medium to heavy vehicles and equipment in manual or cleansing roles, with a strong focus on safety, procedure compliance, attention to detail, and teamwork. Proficient in basic reporting and using digital field systems.
