Vetcare Hawthorn Position: Veterinary Nurse

Vetcare Hawthorn is looking for four Veterinary nurses to join our team at Vetcare Hawthorn, Melbourne.

Full-time, Part-time or Casual Experienced Vet Nurse

We are a well-established clinic, family-oriented, with a friendly team of staff. There are lots of opportunities for learning and growth in these roles.

Various levels of experience are required.

Roles and Responsibility

Assist Vets with routine examinations

Surgical nursing, including monitoring anaesthetics

Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare team members

Assist vets with routine examinations

Preparation for surgery, monitoring general anaesthesia

Pre and post-operative patient care, including grief support to clients

Prepare and administer medications as required

Admission and discharge of surgical cases

Communicate treatment plans to clients

Blood collection and testing, IV catheter placement

Assist with x-rays and ultrasounds

Assist with dental scale and polish of dental patients

Sterilization of instruments according to practice sterilization procedures

General day-to-day nursing duties to support the Vets and working with the team members to ensure the highest patient care

General reception and administrative duties

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

As a minimum, have completed certificate IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent qualification.

A minimum of 1-2 years of full-time experience as a veterinary nurse.

Be willing to work at our sister clinic in Hawthorn East at least once a week.

You will receive:

Annual salary ranges between $70,000-80,000.
