An experienced and proactive construction management professional, you will oversee the planning and delivery of campus development projects for this progressive globally recognised independent education provider. You will operate as the strategic link between campus operations and regional/national or global Buildings teams. You will be responsible for managing the capital works program, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organisational objectives. The position combines strategic oversight with hands-on project coordination, fostering collaboration among internal teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver efficient, compliant, world-class, well-designed, sustainable future-ready facilities across the national network of modern campuses. You will be from a construction background, ideally having worked with tier one or two building contractors and exposed to fast-paced decision-making and process. A Contracts or Project Manager, you will be looking for career progression and be able to work very commercially and independently but still be able to get hands-on when needed with contracts, on-site decisions and the necessary but unglamorous parts of the job.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the strategic planning and execution of capital works initiatives to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and growth objectives.
- Driving financial governance across all projects through proactive budget management, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Shaping and optimising project frameworks, schedules, and delivery processes to enhance consistency, transparency, and efficiency.
- Leading procurement and contractor engagement strategies that ensure value for money, quality delivery, and policy compliance.
- Upholding governance, regulatory, and safety standards across all capital works programs to ensure full compliance and operational integrity.
- Cultivating strong stakeholder partnerships across regional and global teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Interstate travel visiting various campuses and projects
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, construction, engineering or similar and/or equivalent experience.
- Proven background in delivering capital works projects, ideally within multi-site construction environments.
- Strong capability in budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience in engaging, managing, and overseeing consultants, contractors and other external partners.
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Skills in balancing both operational delivery and strategic program oversight.
- Exposure to working within complex, multi-regional organisational structures
- Hands on construction and contracts management
