Are you a highly organised individual with an interest in building design or interior design? We are looking for a team player who enjoys supporting others and creating a positive office environment.
About Wardle Design:
Wardle Design is a Melbourne-based building design studio located in the vibrant northern suburbs, specialising in bespoke multi-residential townhouses, single dwellings, renovations, extensions, and commercial projects. With easy access to cafes, parks, and public transport, our collaborative and inclusive team is passionate about delivering high-quality design and building strong client relationships in a dynamic environment.
The role:
We're looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Office Administrator / Junior Interior Designer to join our team. The main role will initially be to support Wardle Design's efficient operation by handling organisational & administrative tasks as well as greeting clients and answering phones. The role will progress to support the team with responsibilities including onboarding staff and training staff in our internal systems.
This is a fully office-based position requiring on-site attendance at our Melbourne studio.
For a candidate with CAD experience there will be opportunities to assist with building design documentation. For the right candidate with interior design experience we envisage being able to develop the role to include interior design for our clientele.
At Wardle Design, you'll work in a dynamic environment with a friendly, supportive setting. We value a proactive attitude and a genuine desire to continually learn and grow within the role.
Key responsibilities:
Be the first point of contact: answer and transfer phone calls, take messages, and welcome visitors
Maintain physical and electronic filing systems.
Monitor and order office supplies, ensure workspace is organised
Support staff including training in our internal systems, onboarding, inductions and maintaining operating procedures
Update and maintain our job management system
Order property information and arrange consultants; assist with council applications
Possibly gain experience in building design or interior design depending on the candidate
What we're looking for:
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Tech-savvy with experience in Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn)
A team player who enjoys supporting others and creating a positive office environment
Customer service experience required
Relevant qualification or experience in design or administration preferred
A growth mindset and willingness to continually improve and adapt
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
How to Apply:
If this opportunity excites you, we'd love to hear from you! Please send through your cover letter and resume for consideration. A portfolio is optional.
