Menai Animal Hospital — Veterinary Nurse (Permanent Part-time)

Are you an enthusiastic, friendly, and compassionate Veterinary Nurse looking to join a supportive team? Menai Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled nurse to help deliver high‑quality care across a wide range of services, including breeding support, orthopaedic and ophthalmic surgery, and comprehensive care for dogs, cats, pocket pets and reptiles.

About you

Enthusiastic, honest and cheerful

Eager to learn and grow — training provided

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Strong people skills — nurses run consults and regularly communicate with clients face-to-face and by phone

Confident handling animals, or willing to learn

Well organised with good time-management skills

Completed Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or currently studying (we will also consider applicants studying other animal-based degrees)

Available to work afternoon shifts and some Saturday mornings

Australian work rights assessed on a case by case basis

About the role

Shift times: 8:00–15:00, 14:30–19:30; Saturdays 8:00–12:00

Nurse-run consults: nurses start consults and the vet joins — strong communication and client education skills are essential

Reception duties: answering phones, making bookings and managing client accounts (we don't have a dedicated receptionist)

Patient care: tending to boarders and hospitalised patients, monitoring surgery and recovery, handling admissions and discharges

You can follow through your patient's care.

Pay: competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
