About the Role

As a Casual Child Care Worker, you will:

Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment that promotes the welfare and wellbeing of children.

Engage positively and actively with children, supporting their social, leisure, and recreational needs.

Treat children and families professionally, confidentially, and with respect.

Support observations of children and the implementation and evaluation of programs under the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) Framework.

Set up and pack down activities daily and maintain staff/child ratios.

Maintain health and hygiene standards and assist with children’s personal care when required.

Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings, and perform other duties as required.

Follow all Council and Centre Policies and Procedures.

What You’ll Bring

Current Working with Children Check clearance.

Current Education and Care First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004) or willingness to obtain.

Work experience with children aged 5 to 12 in an education and care setting, with an understanding of their social, recreational, and leisure needs.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team while maintaining a strong customer and delivery-focused approach.

Willingness to support children with additional needs.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable

TAFE or equivalent qualification in OOSH or Early Childhood Education and Care.

Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including MTOP and National Quality Standards.

Awareness of cultural and linguistic diversity of children and families.

Basic computer literacy and office skills.

Skills in art, craft, music, movement, games, or dramatic play.
