About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Accountant with strong tax preparation skills to join our friendly team. You will be responsible for managing your own client portfolio, comprising a diverse and interesting mix of high-profile individuals and a broad range of businesses.

Working closely with the Partners and reporting to a Manager, you will play an integral role in client management and team support. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their accounting career within a firm that values people as much as performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, profit & loss, balance sheets

• Manage and lodge BAS / GST, payroll tax, and other tax compliance matters

• Assist in tax return preparation (individuals, trusts, companies)

• Assist with audit support, bookkeeping, and reconciliations

• Liaise with clients regarding financial queries, planning and advice

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax law and firm policies

Skills & Experience

• Completion of an Australian-recognised accounting/commerce or business degree (with a good academic record in tax)

• Must have commenced or about to commence the CPA or CA program.

• You must be able to communicate clearly and have strong written and communication skills

• Sound IT skills, especially in Excel & Word

• Working knowledge of MYOB, Xero and exposure to Handisoft or similar accounting software
