About the Role
wayss is seeking a Senior Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our Intake and Crisis Response (ICR) team — a dynamic and compassionate group dedicated to making a real impact across Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey, and Cardinia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert intake and crisis support to victim survivors of family violence.
- Conduct risk assessments using the MARAM framework.
- Engage in safety planning and short-term case management.
- Advocate for clients and connect them with vital services.
- Support high-risk cases and participate in complex case panels.
- Collaborate with external agencies to ensure holistic care.
- Contribute to team development and participate in after-hours on-call roster.
About You
You’re a compassionate and skilled professional with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work or related discipline (or willingness to obtain) (Compliant with Family Violence minimum qualifications Rec 209)
- Experience in family violence, intake, or crisis response (highly desirable).
- Strong interpersonal skills and resilience to support clients in trauma.
- Ability to work independently and build authentic relationships.
- Commitment to best practice and continuous improvement.
- A current Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check (Employment category)
- Willingness to undergo wayss pre-employment screening, including a police and identity check
