We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Support Workers to join our team in Redbank Plains, supporting a valued male participant with Traumatic Brain Injury, complex behaviors, physical aggression, and absconding risks.
About the Role
We urgently require Part-Time Support Workers (with casual positions also available) for a 2:1 Community Access role, providing consistent, structured support to a participant with high-intensity and behavioral support needs, including physical aggression and absconding behaviors.
This is a strictly community access role, with support required daily from 12:00pm to 4:00pm (4-hour shifts).
Two staff members will be rostered per shift, and a company bus is provided for all community-based activities.
Applicants must have minimum availability of 5 days per week (Monday–Sunday).
Key Role Details
Employment Type: Part-Time (Casual roles also available)
Location: Redbank Plains, QLD
Client: Male, Traumatic Brain Injury, high-intensity needs, physical aggression, absconding risks
Support Ratio: 2:1 (two staff per shift)
Shift Time: 12:00pm – 4:00pm daily
Shift Duration: Standard shifts are 4 hours per day
Roster: 7-day rotating schedule (minimum 5 days per week availability required)
Transport: Company bus provided for community access
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe and consistent community access support
Support the participant to engage in structured community and social activities
Implement and follow Positive Behaviors Support Plans (PBSP)
Monitor, prevent, and manage physical aggression and absconding behaviors
Maintain safety, dignity, and independence at all times
Work collaboratively in a 2:1 support environment
Safely operate and manage the company bus during shifts
What We're Looking For
Experienced, calm, and reliable Support Workers
Proven experience with high-intensity behaviors, including aggression and absconding
A minimum of 6-12 months experience with behaviours of concern and PBSP implementation
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Confidence in implementing PBSPs and de-escalation techniques
Flexibility and availability at least 5 days per week
Essential Requirements
Demonstrated experience supporting participants with high behaviors / PBSP
Valid NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card) and Blue Card
First Aid & CPR Certificate
Full Driver's Licence (for company bus use)
Certificate III or IV in Disability or Community Services (highly regarded)
Australian work rights are required for this position
