Location: Kensington, Western Australia
Visitor Engagement and Social Research Branch coordinates visitor communications and engagement activity, visitor and social research, and systems development and support for the Parks and Wildlife Service. This includes maintaining essential assets that enhance visitor engagement such as the department’s visitor-facing website (Explore Parks WA) and campground information and booking system (Park Stay WA). The branch is responsible for maintaining a strong social media presence, as well as on-site interpretive media, wayfinding and directional signs. In addition, the branch conducts visitor and social research to gather and analyse data to inform departmental decision-making.
We are currently seeking a Website System Developer (Drupal) to join our team.
Under the supervision of the Systems Development and Support Coordinator this position:
Works as part of multi-disciplinary website development teams, provides the Drupal content management system development and support requirements needed to upgrade and maintain Departmental consumer-facing websites.

Selection Criteria
- Considerable experience in website development as part of a team.
- Possess well-developed knowledge of Drupal content management system (Version 10 or later) with emphasis on site-building, configuration and theming. This includes expertise in PHP, understanding of TWIG for theme customization, and familiarity with Drupal's core and contributed modules. Experience with Drush/Drupal Console and knowledge of YAML for configuration management is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in applying web-based languages and development tools. This includes, but is not limited to, HTML 5, CSS (including pre-processors like SASS and/or LESS), JavaScript (including jQuery and other JavaScript libraries), PHP, SQL, Git for version control, and familiarity with Drupal's API and hook system.
- Demonstrated ability to implement Application Program Interface (API) systems to meet business requirements.
