Amenities Cleaner
Location: Large distribution Centre Located in Lytton

Job Description:

MJ Hygiene is seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Commercial Amenities Cleaner to join our team at a large-scale Distribution Centre. This position plays a critical role in maintaining hygiene standards across key facility areas including staff amenities, office spaces, and food-handling zones. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe, clean, and professional environment in line with site requirements and Australian hygiene standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and detailed cleaning of toilets, showers, and change rooms, ensuring they remain sanitized, stocked, and in excellent condition.

Clean lunch rooms and break areas, including wiping surfaces, mopping floors, sanitizing tables, and emptying bins.

Conduct regular cleaning of laboratories and controlled environment rooms, adhering strictly to required hygiene protocols.

Carry out floor and surface cleaning in large chiller warehouse areas, including operation of a ride-on floor scrubber.

Maintain cleanliness of offices and administrative spaces, including vacuuming, dusting, bin changes, and touchpoint disinfection.

Refill consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper across all areas.

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the site supervisor promptly.

Comply with site entry/exit procedures and adhere to all safety and PPE requirements.

Follow site cleaning schedules and complete job checklists as required.


Desirable Qualifications:

Valid driver's licence (preferred but not essential).

Previous experience working in HACCP or GMP environments.


Experience:

Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning (distribution centre or warehouse environment desirable).

Confident in operating a ride-on scrubber and other commercial cleaning equipment.

Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols, especially in food and lab areas.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating machinery.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace hygiene and safety.

Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

The performance of the Amenities Cleaner will be assessed regularly using the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which are designed to ensure high standards of hygiene, safety, and reliability across the site:

Cleaning Task Completion Rate: The cleaner is expected to complete 100% of scheduled cleaning tasks per shift. This ensures that all designated areas—including toilets, lunchrooms, labs, chillers, and offices—are consistently cleaned and maintained to required standards.

Cleaning Quality Standards: A minimum score of 90% in regular supervisor audits or site inspections is required. This reflects the cleaner’s ability to meet the hygiene and presentation expectations of the client and site management.

Ride-On Scrubber Usage Efficiency: The cleaner must operate the ride-on floor scrubber effectively, completing assigned floor areas within the scheduled timeframe without the need for rework or follow-up. This KPI supports operational efficiency and equipment competency.

PPE and Safety Compliance: The cleaner must demonstrate 100% compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety protocols, ensuring no breaches or unsafe practices are recorded. Adherence to site-specific safety requirements is critical in maintaining a safe working environment.

Consumables Replenishment: All soap, paper, and hygiene consumables must be replenished as required, with no incidents of out-of-stock amenities reported. This supports user satisfaction and hygiene continuity across the site.

Incident and Hazard Reporting: Any safety hazards or facility issues identified during the shift must be reported promptly, ideally within the same shift. This proactive reporting culture helps maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Attendance and Punctuality: A minimum punctual attendance rate of 95% per month is expected. Regular and timely attendance ensures adequate coverage and reliability of the cleaning service.

Customer and Client Feedback: The cleaner should maintain a positive service record, with no more than one cleanliness-related complaint received per month. This KPI measures service quality and highlights any training needs.

Team Communication: The cleaner must demonstrate effective communication with supervisors and team members, responding to instructions and updates within the shift time frame. Strong communication supports team cohesion and workflow efficiency.

Adherence to Site Procedures: The cleaner must complete all daily cleaning checklists and logbooks accurately. Full compliance with documentation procedures is essential for internal tracking and external audits.
