Job Description

Our Outside School Hours Care service, Mitchelton Helping Hands, is looking for a passionate Assistant Coordinator. This is a permanent part-time opportunity offering 20 hours per week to assist with leading a team of passionate Educators.

You'll work split shifts, supporting our Monday-Friday hours: 6:00am-8:50am (Rise then Shine) and 2:50pm-6:00pm (Stay and Play). Extra hours are also available during school holidays!

🚀 About the role

You’ll lead a vibrant before and after-school program at a primary school, guiding children aged 5-12 through fun and enriching activities. With the backing of a dedicated state-specific office and the mentorship of regional managers who visit regularly, you’ll be empowered to shine in your role while developing your skills as a leader!

Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!

Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents

Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management

Support with managing the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

✔️ Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact
✔️ Communicates clearly and confidently
✔️ Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role
✔️ Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check
✔️ Has Australian work rights
✔️ Holds a relevant Certificate III and be actively working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and
Care (or equivalent).
