About the Company
Their shareholder growers and Directors are pioneers of the Australian almond and pistachio industries with more than 150 years of combined experience. Processing 21,000+ tonnes of Almonds and 2,700-5,500 tonnes of pistachios annually, they're one of Australia's largest almond suppliers and the only pistachio processor of scale in the country.
About the Opportunity
You'll drive the execution of their export and domestic sales and marketing strategy with the goal of maximising grower returns (from a finite crop), expanding market share, and strengthening client relationships within the Australian and export almond and pistachio market.
The role involves managing customer service, logistics, sales planning, contract management, and market intelligence while identifying new business opportunities and distribution channels across the retail, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, and foodservice sectors, within specified domestic and export markets.
A commodity-based sales model, you'll navigate pricing that can change daily based on global markets, exchange rates and US market dynamics, and execute contracts for spot sales as low as 5 tonnes, up to 100+ tonne annual supply contracts.
About You
To be considered for this position, you'll bring:
Ideally, a background in related bulk-supply, commodity-based, agriculture product sales to wholesale distributors domestically and overseas
Alternatively, 5+ years' experience in sales combined with a strong interest in / desire to work in this space
Strong commercial acumen - e.g. the ability to understand deal structures, pricing dynamics in a fast-paced commodity-driven environment, ability to make informed decisions about where to place finite inventory for maximum return, etc.
Strong planning, customer service and account follow up skills - e.g. you're diligent around follow-up, able to manage multiple contracts, customer draw downs, and stay ahead of logistics and delivery schedules.
Most importantly, you're naturally engaging, personable and inquisitive - e.g. able to build trusted client relationships across diverse local and overseas markets, and uncover / stay ahead of client needs and market expansion opportunities.
