Experienced Excavator Operator – 35t Machine (Pipe Crew)

Family-Owned Civil Drainage Company | Full-Time | South East QLD

Our family-owned civil drainage company is expanding and we’re looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled operator who enjoys working in a close-knit crew environment on a variety of drainage and civil projects.

We have a strong pipeline of work and are seeking a motivated, safety-conscious operator who takes pride in their work and has solid experience working on pipe crews.

About the Role

You will be operating a 35-tonne excavator on civil drainage projects, working directly alongside one or both company directors. Your day-to-day duties will include:

Excavating and preparing trenches for sewer, stormwater, and water mains

Craning and placing large pipes and structures safely and efficiently

Backfilling and compacting deep trenches to specification

Assisting with shoring installation

General site duties as required to support the crew

Maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard

Following all company Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators in civil drainage or pipe-laying environments

Experience craning and installing large pipes

Strong understanding of WHS practices and safe work procedures

Ability to work as part of a small, productive team

Reliable, self-motivated and takes pride in quality work

Required Licences & Tickets

Current Excavator Ticket (RIIMPO320F or equivalent)

QLD Driver’s Licence and reliable own transport

Construction White Card

Current PPE

Highly Regarded (Not Essential)

Able to use GPS

Experience with final trim or detailed excavation
