About The Grove Distillery

The Grove is an iconic Margaret River destination — the region’s first distillery and a long-loved stop for visitors seeking great spirits, good company, and now, an elevated new dining experience. Under new ownership, the venue is undergoing a transformation with a refreshed dining and bar space designed to match the quality and creativity of our handcrafted Grove spirits.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a talented, self-motivated Chef to take the lead in bringing our new food offering to life.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of a new dining venture within an established venue — to help define the menu, influence the style, and play a hands-on role in executing a food experience that complements our distillery’s products and personality.

The venue will operate five days a week (Thursday to Monday) for lunch service only, with occasional special events and functions throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day kitchen operations, menu creation, prep, and service.

Develop a modern, approachable menu that pairs beautifully with The Grove’s range of spirits, cocktails, and local wines.

Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment.

Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and food costings.

Work collaboratively with the FOH and management team to ensure smooth service and a cohesive guest experience.

Contribute ideas for future events, tastings, and seasonal menu changes that help build The Grove’s reputation as a must-visit food and drink destination.

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

Creative and visionary – excited to shape and deliver a new food concept.

Hands-on and self-motivated – comfortable running a small kitchen and getting things done.

Passionate about quality, local produce, and great presentation.

Organised and dependable – able to manage prep and service independently.

Collaborative – enjoy working with a small, close-knit team to create something special.

Previous experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef ready to step up will be highly regarded.
