Are you an experienced Office or Practice Manager ready to take the next step in your leadership career?
We’re partnering with a respected Brisbane law firm to find a dynamic General Manager / Practice Manager — someone who thrives on creating structure, building culture, and driving operational excellence.
This is a pivotal role within the firm, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the smooth running of a high-performing legal practice. You’ll work closely with the Directors to lead people, improve processes, and deliver outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager / Practice Manager, you will be at the heart of the firm, ensuring smooth operations and providing leadership across administration, HR, finance, IT, and facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily office operations and processes to ensure efficiency.
 - Leading and mentoring administrative and support staff.
 - Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and HR processes.
 - Managing budgets, supplier contracts, and invoicing.
 - Ensuring compliance with professional and legal standards.
 - Liaising with IT providers, building management, and external vendors.
 - Supporting Directors with reporting, project coordination, and strategic initiatives.
 - Driving firm-wide initiatives, events, and special projects.
 - Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
 - Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with integrity.
 
About You
You’re a natural leader who combines professionalism with approachability. You know how to get things done, keep people motivated, and stay one step ahead. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in an Office Manager, Practice Manager, or similar leadership role (legal industry experience highly regarded but not essential).
 - Strong organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
 - Confidence with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and cloud-based systems (experience with legal practice management software such as Practice Evolve is a bonus).
 - The ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
 - A passion for efficiency, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
