This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse to experience remote nursing in the outback town of Coober Pedy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual patient/client needs and plan, implement, and coordinate appropriate service delivery, collaborating with other disciplines or agencies as needed.
  • Provide direct, person-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area, gradually increasing autonomy over time.
  • Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies to address individual health care needs.
  • Within established guidelines, assess clients in a multidisciplinary primary health care setting, select and implement therapeutic interventions and support programs, and evaluate progress.

This opportunity offers exceptional work-life balance. There are additional monetary incentives in addition to the base salary, consisting of the following:

  • Attraction Incentive – Consisting of $25,000 paid as a lump sum at the completion of first 12 month’s service; then paid fortnightly as a retention allowance for an additional 12 months thereafter.
  • Regional and Remote Zone and Locality Allowance – Zone 4
  • Professional Development Allowance
  • 6 weeks annual paid recreation leave

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated competence in relevant nursing or midwifery practice in line with appropriate standards.
