Mass Resources is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join a production coal mining project in Queensland. This role is ideal for experienced operators looking to work with large-scale excavators while contributing to safe and efficient mine operations.

Skills & Requirements
As an Excavator Operator, you will operate PC890 and PC1200 excavators to extract overburden and coal according to mine plans. You’ll work closely with truck operators, dozer operators, and dispatch to meet productivity targets while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate large excavators in an open-cut coal mining environment
• Excavate and load overburden or coal into haul trucks efficiently and safely
• Follow production schedules and dig plans as directed by supervisors
• Conduct pre-start inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
• Monitor ground conditions, bench stability, and ensure safe working areas
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, truck operators, and team members using POS coms
• Report equipment faults, hazards, or incidents promptly
• Comply with site safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company policies
• Support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating large excavators in a production coal mining environment
• Strong understanding of mine site safety regulations and hazard awareness
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts on a DIDO roster
• Positive attitude and strong team focus

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid Driver’s Licence
• RIIMPO301D – Conduct Hydraulic Excavator Operations (or equivalent)
• Current Standard 11
• Coal Board Medical
