Ongoing growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Electrical & Controls Manager to lead a key division within the business.
About the Role
The Manager – Electrical & Controls will provide strategic leadership, technical direction and operational oversight of the electrical division. You’ll drive team performance, ensure compliance and profitability, and oversee the successful delivery of all electrical and controls projects.
This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on innovation, performance and collaboration across multiple project teams. This is not a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the electrical team to achieve capability, utilisation and performance targets.
- Oversee electrical design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and diagnostics to ensure quality and compliance.
- Set and deliver strategic direction aligned with business goals and growth objectives.
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasts and resource allocation to ensure commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with project and engineering teams to deliver integrated project results.
- Review and approve designs, tenders, quotes and technical documentation for major projects.
- Represent the electrical function in client and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain compliance with WHS, AS3000 and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in processes, systems and digital workflows.
- Report to senior management on team performance, utilisation and profitability.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 10+ years’ experience in industrial, construction or manufacturing electrical services.
- 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Licensed Electrician or qualified Electrical/Mechatronics Engineer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards, legislation and WHS obligations.
- Proven experience managing teams, budgets and technical delivery.
Preferred:
- Project Management qualification (PMP or equivalent).
- Experience with ERP or job management systems.
- Additional high-risk work or industry certifications.
