About the Role
The System Analyst - Cyber Security role (12 months) will have a critical responsibility in protecting Fire Rescue Victoria’s (FRV) information systems and digital assets by monitoring, analysing, responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
The role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of FRV's data and technology environments through proactive threat detection, incident response, and implementation of security controls aligned with organisational policies and government security standards.
Key functionalities of this role will include:
Security monitoring and incident response.
Threat and vulnerability management.
Security operations support.
Access and identity management.
Policy and compliance.
Security awareness and training.
Risk awareness and reporting.
Collaboration and continuous improvements.
About you
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations, incident response, or threat management.
Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, identity management, and security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, DLP).
Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations, including threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
Proven ability to work with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, endpoint protection, DLP, and identity management systems.
Experience applying security frameworks and standards such as VPDSS, ISO 27001, or NIST to ensure compliance and best practice.
Strong experience collaborating with ICT teams and stakeholders to improve security posture and manage cyber risks across the organisation.

FRV’s standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience
