About the position
We are on the lookout for reliable and safety-conscious Truck Drivers to support our Maintenance and Civil Works teams. These practical, hands-on roles involve operating heavy vehicles and contributing to a variety of civil construction and maintenance labouring activities across the Wollongong LGA.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safely operate trucks and other plant equipment in line with Council procedures
- Tow trailers and transport tool trailers and vans to various work sites
- Assist with civil construction and maintenance tasks (e.g. roadworks, concrete formwork, asphalt)
- Load/unload trailers and secure loads
- Maintain a strong focus on safety-both truck-related and on site
- Promote Council's values of Respect, Integrity, OneTeam, Sustainability, and Courage in all aspects of your work.
About you
- You have a current NSW MR licence (minimum); HR licence is a bonus
- You are experienced in truck operation, towing, and maintenance
- You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment through effective WHS practices in both truck driving and labouring.
- You hold a current NSW WHS Construction Induction (White Card)
- You have or are willing to obtain Traffic Control and Working Near Overhead Power Lines tickets in the first three months of employment
- You possess strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
- You are physically capable of labour-intensive tasks and undertaking the duties outlined in the position description
Please note that as part of the recruitment process you will be required to undertake a practical assessment. Opportunities for overtime and weekend work may be offered when operationally required.
