Our client, Singleton Council, is seeking a Labourer/ Vegetation Spray Operator to assist the Road Vegetation Team with maintenance and chemical control of vegetation across the Singleton area. Operating within the Civil Operations Unit, this role is vital in keeping roadsides, parks, and playing fields safe, accessible, and well-maintained.

This role is an ASAP start, and will continue into the new year.

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake chemical spraying using a dedicated spray truck, including guideposts, guardrails, road edges, urban targeted spraying, parks, playing fields, and noxious weeds.

Maintain accurate records of safety, maintenance, prestart checks, timesheets, and other documentation.

Carry out vegetation maintenance tasks including snipping, mowing, and tree work using appropriate plant and equipment.

Implement traffic control measures to manage vehicular and pedestrian safety.

Contribute knowledge and skills to the team, stay up-to-date with new plant, equipment, and technology.

Assist with problem solving and support emergency services as required.

Essential Criteria:

Relevant labouring experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening, horticulture, lawn care, or roadside vegetation management.

Competency in using electronic devices for field and administrative tasks.

Strong numeracy, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to excellent customer service.

Desirable:

Certificate III in Horticulture or similar.

ChemUse Certificate (AQF4).

MR Class Licence
