The Role
We are seeking an experienced and analytically minded professional to join our Analytics team in Launceston. This senior role is ideal for someone who combines deep analytical expertise with a natural curiosity and a passion for uncovering insights that drive meaningful outcomes. You’ll be part of a high-performing team, supported by collaborative peers and leaders, and encouraged to continuously learn and evolve. While strong experience in data analytics is essential, we value inquisitiveness, critical thinking, and a desire to explore new approaches just as highly.
Primary responsibilities include delivering timely, accurate, and insightful quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision-making across the business. You’ll play a key role in shaping analytical outputs and guiding strategic initiatives to support our customers and the Tasmanian community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience and qualification in a senior analytical, financial, or audit role with strong business acumen.
Advanced skills in SQL and ETL processes for data extraction, cleansing, and manipulation.
Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to design impactful dashboards and reports.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability, with experience in interpreting complex datasets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience contributing to a strong collaborative environment.
Proven track record of translating data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership in managing analytics projects from concept to delivery.
Commitment to accuracy, governance, and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Additional desirable qualities and skills are as follows:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internal and external audit functions.
An understanding or demonstrated experience in Azure-based data infrastructure.
Demonstrated knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
