Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Emergency Department Mental Health (EDMH), you'll play a vital leadership role in the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for consumers presenting with acute mental health concerns. You'll collaborate across emergency, inpatient and community settings to support seamless, safe, and compassionate care by:
- Providing advanced clinical consultancy, assessment, and triage for consumers requiring urgent psychiatric support.
- Leading and supporting the EDMH team to ensure evidence-based, high-quality practice.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to improve continuity and outcomes across the care continuum.
- Supporting clinical governance, quality improvement, and workforce education initiatives.
- Applying advanced leadership and decision-making to promote safety, efficiency, and collaboration in care delivery.
About you:
You're an experienced and passionate mental health nurse who thrives in dynamic clinical environments and is committed to improving outcomes for consumers experiencing acute distress. You'll bring this to the role with:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Extensive experience in acute or emergency mental health settings and advanced clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and evidence-based frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, promote education, and manage change.
- Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- (Desirable) Credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse and/or Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (or working towards).
