About the role

San Juan Construction is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join their team in Darwin, NT. As the Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the Safety compliance of our project at the RAAF Base Darwin. This is a key role that will contribute to the overall success and wellbeing of our projects and workforce.

What you'll be doing

Providing expert advice and guidance on all safety matters to project team

Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards

Developing and implementing Safety policies, procedures and training programs

Investigating and reporting on incidents to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Liaising with regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders as required

Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring all workers are equipped to work safely

What we're looking for

Australian Citizen/ Resident with eligibility for ADF Base access clearance

Visa sponsorship will not be offered for this role

Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related field

Minimum 5 years' experience as an HSE/Safety Advisor in the construction or civil infrastructure industry

Experience working in a multicultural or military/contractor team environment.

Extensive knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations - Knowledge of EM385-1-1-2014 would be extremely advantageous

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to safety
