About the team/business unit

Valuation Services provides quality, impartial valuations to support Government service delivery. The Specialist Valuations branch provides market valuations, government assets valuations (including insurance valuations) and mining and business interest valuations.

About the role

This position provides high level expert consulting services and advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding valuations, as well as undertake complex valuations for native title & renewable energy projects using alternative methodologies, as well as providing mentoring where required. An important part of this position, will be to provide leadership that encourages continuous learning and a collaborative work environment at all levels of the business, whilst contributing to the strategic direction of Valuation Services.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position, however Part Time arrangements may be considered.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:

Possession of a degree as prescribed by Regulation 8(1) of the Land Valuers Licensing Regulations 1979 or an equivalent degree as approved by the Executive Director of Labour Relations; and a license in accordance with Section 19 of the Land Valuers Licensing Act 1978.

Extensive understanding of valuation principles and practices relevant to the specific valuation team this role operates in, and the capacity to apply these to property valuations. Significant professional valuation experience, including substantial experience in making complex valuations in relation to most classes of property including Native Title settlement valuations and advising on the valuation of renewable energy projects. Knowledge of the valuation requirement of the Valuation of Land Act 1978.

Proven ability to be an effective leader by mentoring, advising, and guiding team members. This includes the ability to effectively influence, inspire and motivate others to make a difference.

Ability to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved, and demonstration of a strong track record in achieving deliverables and activities within deadlines.

Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders.

Proven ability to research, analyse and evaluate information to develop practical solutions and make informed decisions.
