About the role

Temporary full time opportunity to provide an efficient booking service for all patients, consultants and clinicians. This position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience and a positive attitude. The position is responsible and accountable for assisting with the management of the waiting lists in accordance with Queensland Health Policy.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Proficiently complete functions with a high standard of data integrity associated with the bookings for procedures/appointments, management procedure/appointment cancellations, confirmations, rescheduling and removals from the waiting list/clinics utilising software packages specific to TPCH eg: HBCIS, ESM, QFlow, Novell, Outlook and various Microsoft office suite program with the Implementation Standards and seeking involvement from clinicians as necessary.
  • Demonstrate ability to remain calm and show empathy, understanding and patient as the first point of service ensuring that patient care is the priority and focus. Attend to department phone calls professionally and courteously and ensure “clinical” questions are referred to the appropriate clinical area/clinic or supervisor in a timely manner while ensuring confidentially is maintained in alliance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate high work ethics, the ability to work autonomously, exercise judgement and a high level of pride in the quality of work undertaken. Proactively plans, organises and manages own time effectively while remaining flexible and open to change. Assist other staff within a team structure to ensure priority tasks are completed and department/organisational goals are met.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of administrative support to a number of multidisciplinary teams as required including, but not limited to, work processing, chart preparation, filing, data entry, revenue data collection and correspondence.
