As the Identity Technical Lead at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the institution's enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities. You'll lead the technical direction, design, and implementation of key IAM platforms, including Saviynt for Identity Governance and Okta for Single Sign-On. This role offers you the opportunity to drive innovation in secure, scalable access solutions, directly impacting the digital experience of thousands of users across the university community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Platform Management: Oversee the configuration and optimization of identity-related platforms, ensuring secure integration and high performance.
- Technical Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of identity solutions, setting technical standards and driving continuous improvement.
- Security & Compliance: Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure IAM controls support access governance and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key technical point of contact, bridging communication between technical and non-technical audiences.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced IAM professional with deep expertise in Saviynt IGA and Okta, possessing strong technical leadership skills and the ability to drive innovation in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
You may also:
- Hold a degree in computer science, information systems, or cybersecurity.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of IAM principles and hands-on experience with Saviynt and Okta.
- Have strong proficiency in identity protocols, CI/CD practices, and API integration.
- Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Show a commitment to mentoring team members and driving best practices in IAM.

Enterprise Technology is responsible for all aspects of enterprise & IT foundational technology including both change (project) and run (operational) aspects.
The Enterprise Services domain team, within Enterprise Technology, plans and delivers a diverse range of projects including IT enablement for new buildings on campus and other facilities / smart campus projects; IT infrastructure projects; integration / identity management / security projects; and application / digital projects in the enterprise services domain (finance, HR, procurement, service management, space management and other back-office Enterprise capabilities).
