At the Y, we believe in empowering people to live healthier, happier lives through movement, connection and community. Based at Port Lincoln Leisure Centre, you'll play a key role in motivating participants, promoting wellbeing and supporting members to achieve their health goals by delivering engaging classes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Health and Fitness Instructor, you will:
Work as a team member to provide the very best health and fitness advice through consultation in a friendly atmosphere
Supervision of Health Club users, providing technical advice, support and encouragement
Ensure Health Club users are conforming to Health Club etiquette guidelines
Conduct safe, appropriate and effective programs that are within your scope of practice
General cleaning and tidying of Health Club and areas associated with your work area
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will:
Deliver high quality Group Fitness classes within all prescribed program formats / guidelines
Ensure the required Group Fitness Studio is set up and class is ready to start as per scheduled time, and studio is packed up at end of class
Ensure the health and safety of all participants
Foster a sense of belonging and build rapport with participants

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates for our Health and Fitness/Group Fitness Instructor role will also have, or be willing to obtain:
National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
DHS Working with Children Check
International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
Certificate III or IV in Fitness or Group Exercise Leader certification
(HLTAID009) Provide CPR
(HLTAID011) Provide First Aid
