Platform Architect – Workday

About the Role
As a Platform Architect, you’ll be responsible for developing scalable, maintainable, and future-focused solutions within the Workday ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with business leaders, product owners, and technical teams to translate complex requirements into elegant, effective solutions that drive performance and alignment with strategic goals.

This is a hands-on architectural role — ideal for someone with strong functional knowledge of Workday, deep technical expertise, and a passion for building integrated enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and define Workday solutions that address both functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Configure, implement, and optimise Workday modules as part of full life-cycle delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, pain points, and opportunities for system enhancement.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation covering solution design, technical frameworks, and integration strategies.
• Contribute to the development of data, application, and security layer designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Support data migration, integration, and reporting initiatives in collaboration with technical teams.

About You
You’re a confident communicator and problem-solver who thrives in complex environments. You have the ability to work collaboratively with both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, efficient, and strategically aligned.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of hands-on Workday functional experience across solution design, delivery, and implementation
• Strong expertise in Workday functional modules
• Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Experience developing detailed functional and technical design documentation
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working within large or complex enterprise environments (experience with the Rio Tinto Business Solution highly regarded)
