The Opportunity

We’re seeking a skilled Junior Backend Support Engineer to advance their career with RaptorOS fleet management platform. You’ll develop and support robust MicroPython code running on a MCU platform to ensure reliable functionality and connectivity in challenging mining settings. Collaborating with hardware and software teams, you’ll contribute to mission-critical systems that enhance safety and efficiency in global mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing APIs, microservices, and server-side applications written in Python, Node.js, or C#.

Identify and fix issues in PostgreSQL databases, optimizing queries and data handling for reliability; support dbt models and pipelines.

Support real-time data processing pipelines by diagnosing and resolving bottlenecks or failures.

Test and verify integrations between backend systems, frontend interfaces, IoT devices, and cloud platforms (e.g., GCS, Apache Superset).

Manage Microsoft Entra ID configurations for secure authentication, group permissions, and single sign-on troubleshooting.

Improve stability through targeted code fixes, query tuning, dbt transformations, and enhanced error handling.

Update and maintain clear technical documentation

Perform daily operations via SSH on Unix/Linux servers (Ubuntu/CentOS), including log inspection, service restarts, and basic system administration.

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Hands-on experience supporting backend systems, ideally in real-time or industrial environments.

Working knowledge of Python, Node.js, or C#, with basic proficiency in PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases.

Practical experience with dbt (data build tool) for testing and documenting transformations.

Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for user provisioning, app registration, and access troubleshooting.

Comfortable using SSH and Unix-based terminals (bash, grep, tail, systemctl, cron, etc.).

Familiarity with Docker, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud), and protocols like MQTT.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on keeping systems running smoothly.
