About the role
We’re seeking a dynamic and hands-on Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager to help shape this transformation. You’ll lead the delivery of exceptional food and beverage experiences across the venue, from the new café and bar to entertainment bays, functions, and community events, ensuring every visitor enjoys the best of what Whaleback has to offer.
The role reports to the Manager Whaleback Golf Course with responsibility for the provision and promotion of Food and Beverage (F&B) services across the Whaleback Golf Course.
A snapshot of your new role:
Champion the City’s Customer Experience Plan by embedding a “customer first” mindset, service consistency, and continuous improvement across all F&B outlets.
Oversee the exciting rollout of Whaleback’s new café, entertainment bays, and bar — shaping the visitor experience for one of WA’s most modern golf destinations.
Work closely with the Head Chef to deliver innovative, high-quality food offerings, ensuring menus remain fresh, seasonal, and financially sustainable.
Maintain high-performing, compliant, and contemporary kitchen facilities that meet top food safety and hygiene standards.
Take charge of inventory control, supplier partnerships, and initiatives to reduce food waste while keeping offerings on trend and customer focused.
Coordinate entertainment bay bookings, private events, and promotional activities that enhance community engagement and revenue.
Lead, train, and empower the F&B team, fostering teamwork, accountability, and a culture of respect and inclusion.
Embed the City’s Culture of Care and WHS practices to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace for all staff and patrons.
What you will bring to the role:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Assistant/General Manager (or similar) in a large-scale licenced hospitality venue.
Supervisor or management experience within a multi-faceted hospitality environment.
Experience rostering staff across a seven day a week operation, ensuring staffing levels comply with service standards within budgetary constraints.
Proven experience in preparing contemporary F&B offerings, development of menus and management of stock.
Experience in delivery of customer service excellence, including training and development of staff.
Valid Approved Manager status for liquor licence purposes.
Food Safety Supervisor Training for compliance with Food Safety Standards 3.2.2A (or willingness to obtain)
Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children card (or willingness to obtain).
Provide First Aid or HLTAID011 Certificate (willingness to obtain).
Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends, events, some public holidays and evenings, with balanced days off.
