We have some exciting opportunities at the Murray Bridge Library:

- Multiple Casual Library Officer positions on an ongoing basis, and

- One Casual Library Officer – Toy Library on a Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2026

Position Overview

A casual Library Officer is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to a welcoming environment for all patrons. You will support back and front of house administrative tasks and support a range of library duties and programs for children, youth, and adults.

The Fixed Term Casual Library Officer – Toy Library will have an additional focus of assisting with the operation of our Toy Library collection and engaging with children, youth and families. The position is externally funded at approximately 4 hours a week until 30 June 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Leader Library Services, responsibilities of these roles include:

· Customer Service

· Library Administration

· Community Engagement

· Toy Library Activation (Casual Library Officer – Toy Library only)

The Casual Library Officer positions are offered as casual ongoing contracts at General Officer Level 2 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an hourly salary range of $37.35 to $40.7, plus 25% Casual Loading dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.

The Casual Library Officer – Toy Library position is offered as a fixed term contract until 30 June 2026 at General Officer Level 2 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an hourly salary range of $37.35 to $40.7, plus 25% Casual Loading dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
