Solution Architect - Network Automation

My client is on the lookout for a visionary Solution Architect to join their Network Automation Strategy team - someone who lives and breathes intelligent design, automation, and observability. You'll be at the heart of building automated, self-healing systems that keep one of Australia's biggest networks running smarter and faster.

It's a 6-month contract likely to be extended up to 24 months. Hybrid working environment from Macquarie Park - 3 days in office.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the design and evolution of scalable OSS and automation solutions
• Applying the FCAPS framework (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) for true end-to-end network management.
• Architecting GitOps-driven automation for provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management using tools like Ansible and modern CI/CD platforms.
• Building automation that reduces manual effort, increases reliability, and accelerates service delivery.
• Designing observability and monitoring frameworks using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and more - giving teams real-time visibility into performance and health.
• Developing advanced fault and performance correlation mechanisms to predict and resolve network issues before they happen.
• Creating solutions to detect and remediate configuration drift across mobile core network elements.

Your Skills

• Proven experience in OSS architecture and network management systems.
• Deep understanding of FCAPS frameworks and how they translate into real telecom environments.
• Strong background in GitOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Automation development within complex network environments.
• Practical experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and telemetry systems.
• Familiarity with fault/performance correlation, configuration drift detection, and telecom protocols (SNMP, NetConf, RESTCONF).
• Strong analytical mindset and communication skills - someone who can engage at both engineering and executive levels.
