Roster: 9 days on / 5 days off

About the Role
We’re seeking a motivated Female Indigenous Ranger to join our dedicated team working On Country at Turraburra — a culturally rich property in Central Western Queensland managed by YACHATDAC.
This is hands-on, meaningful work combining land management, cultural preservation, and environmental care. You’ll be part of a strong, supportive team protecting sacred sites, restoring Country, and caring for land and wildlife in line with traditional and contemporary practices.
Your Responsibilities
Participate in cultural burning, flora and fauna monitoring, and erosion control.
Assist with fencing, water infrastructure, and revegetation projects.
Contribute to camp life with rostered cooking and cleaning duties as part of the ranger team.
Protect and maintain ancient rock art sites and other culturally significant locations.
Support water and land improvement programs designed to strengthen drought resilience and biodiversity.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman.
This is an identified position under Section 25 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, which allows for the lawful employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to preserve, protect and promote Indigenous culture, heritage, and knowledge.
Enjoys outdoor, physical work in a team environment.
Has a genuine interest in Country, culture, and environmental conservation.
Demonstrates reliability, respect, and teamwork.
Holds (or is willing to obtain) a driver’s licence and White Card.
