About the role:

Seeking Business Intelligence Systems Analyst for our key state government client. This role combines business and systems analysis with hands-on BI expertise using tools like Tableau and Power BI. It will begin with defining requirements, analysing processes, and designing the platform (including tool selection), then shift toward a more practical data analytics focus to build capability and embed BI tools within the SRI business.

Responsabilities:

• Work with business and technical stakeholders to analyse and document data analytics, warehousing, and reporting requirements.
• Design and document business processes for analytics and reporting services, including self-service capabilities.
• Lead workshops and deliver training (including creating training materials) to help stakeholders and users visualise data and uncover trends and patterns.
• Develop dashboards and reports using visualisation tools to meet specific analytics and reporting needs.
• Support change management activities—such as impact assessments and transition planning—to embed new processes and strengthen organisational analytics and reporting capability.

Requirements:

• Skilled in leading requirements and design workshops with business users, capturing functional requirements, user stories, data sources, data flows, business rules, and data standardisation needs.
• Proficient in developing data visualisations and reports using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Splunk.
• Experienced in sourcing data from a range of on-premise and cloud databases, including Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server, AWS Analytics, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, and Snowflake.
• Knowledgeable in the use of AWS analytics, reporting, and monitoring tools.
• Capable of delivering training and knowledge transfer sessions on BI tool usage.

Highly Desirable
• Experience with geospatial data and cloud-based environments.
• Background in the public sector or large, complex organisations.
