About the team:
The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City’s standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City’s residents and visitors.
The Community Compliance business unit is responsible for:
Patrolling and enforcing parking laws in paid parking and timed parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations.
Reviewing and managing unpaid parking fines and related disputes.
Delivering animal management initiatives to residents including patrols and enforcement, impounding and off leash facilities, pet education, and complaints management, to ensure animals are appropriately cared for and managed in compliance with legislation.
About your new role:
The Compliance Ranger is a multi-skilled role capable of performing a wide range of compliance activities across the spectrum of specialisations within City Inspectorate.
You will serve as frontline personnel conducting scheduled and proactive patrols within designated CBD Precincts of the City, ensuring compliance with regulations, delivering educational support to the community, and promoting safety across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities will include recording and maintaining precise records, evidence of interactions, enforcement activities and outcomes.
There are multiple roles available, each with different shift patterns. Successful candidates will be assigned to one of the following rosters:
Tuesday to Saturday: fixed shift, working 1pm to 9pm each day.
Tuesday to Saturday: alternating every 4-weeks between morning (6am–2pm) and afternoon shifts (1pm–9pm).
Sunday to Thursday: alternating every 4-weeks between morning (6am–2pm) and afternoon shifts (1pm–9pm).
About You:
We are seeking proactive enthusiastic individuals with high levels of integrity and a positive approach. You have a genuine interest in assisting people and a passion for providing an excellent customer experience. We are ideally seeking candidates who:
Have experience applying regulations and policies in a practical setting.
Have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and calmly in challenging situations.
Enjoys working independently and collaboratively, when required.
Have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Have experience in delivering appropriate and equitable regulatory action through issuing warnings and infringement notices.
Have experience in recording and maintaining precise records and evidence.
