Our client is seeking for an experienced R&D Specialist to lead product innovation, drive process optimisation, and shape the future of our product portfolio within the Asian foods and protein-based categories.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures all R&D activities and trials are conducted in line with WHS requirements to maintain a safe product development environment

Supports uninterrupted product development by maintaining compliant testing conditions

Leads end-to-end development of chilled and frozen products from concept to commercialisation

Conducts pilot and production trials, evaluates performance data, and integrates consumer and market insights into development

innovation pipeline; improved yields and reduced waste

Develops accurate ingredient, allergen, and nutritional specifications to ensure regulatory compliance

Ensures product documentation aligns with FSANZ standards and supports audit readiness

Works with Production, Procurement, Engineering, QA, Marketing, and Finance to optimise cost, quality, and scalability during product development

Facilitates efficient product launch and process transfer to manufacturing

Identifies and drives process and product improvements to enhance performance and sustainability

Leads innovation initiatives focused on clean-label, health-forward, and sustainable product development

Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Food Engineering

Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing or product development (chilled/frozen categories or Asian foods preferred)

In-depth understanding of FSANZ regulations, WHS, labelling, and export standards

Proven experience in production trials and process optimisation
