The Opportunity
Monash Rural Health Gippsland is seeking a Senior Lecturer (Practice) to contribute to the education of Year 4C medical students through high-quality General Practice classroom and simulation-based teaching. This role plays a vital part in connecting clinical practice with academic learning by bringing current professional expertise directly into the curriculum. The position will enhance the student learning experience while supporting the School’s strong relationships with regional clinical training environments.
This position will design and deliver tutorials and practical classes, develop and refine general practice teaching materials, engage with local teaching practices and strengthen links with key medical education bodies. The Senior Lecturer (Practice) will also contribute to competency-based assessment activities and support student development within a professional learning framework. Additionally, there will also be opportunities to contribute to research in clinical education and be part of a supportive academic community committed to rural medical training.
We are seeking someone with advanced qualifications in clinical medicine or public health, current AHPRA registration and experience in either community or hospital-based clinical practice. The role requires strong communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to medical education and the ability to work effectively with clinicians and academic colleagues.
This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the next generation of rural doctors while advancing your academic career — we invite you to apply and join a dedicated team making meaningful impact in Gippsland.
