About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic eager to work in the construction and access equipment sector. Our business, with a team of 10 mechanics, offers a permanent, full-time position. You will be a dedicated road technician, working on equipment ranging from generators on building sites to TRACTO directional drilling equipment, forklifts, and access equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repair of construction and elevated work platform equipment, including testing, inspection, and repairs on excavators, trucks, cars, compressors, underground drilling equipment, mini loaders, light equipment, telehandlers, forklifts, trailers, generators, and more.

Diagnosing faults by discussing issues with operators, using special test equipment and working closely with the service manager to help our customers get there equipment back to work.

Troubleshooting and conducting tests to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions using mechanical engineering principles.

Fabrication, hydraulic cylinder overhauls, pin removal, and performing 12-month services on customer equipment.

Conducting major inspections for cranes and elevated work platforms to ensure safety under Australian Standard AS2550.10.

Performing major inspections on truck-mounted and mobile cranes to ensure safety under Australian Standard AS2550.5.

Hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic pump repairs and rebuilds.

Pre-delivery inspections of new equipment.

Attending sites to perform safety breakdowns and service all equipment.

About You:

You are either looking to expand your knowledge in the mechanical construction industry or are an experienced technician seeking a role with a variety of equipment. This position is ideal for someone with a technical background who is eager to learn on the job or an experienced technician looking to apply their skills in service, repairs, and fabrication.

Requirements:

At least 6 years of experience as a mechanic.

Relevant trade certificate.

Valid driver's license.

Own tools (can be supplied if needed).

Service truck and all required PPE provided.
