We are still yet to find our replacement for our lovely RN in/out nurse who has been promoted into another role! A vacancy exists for an experienced Community Registered Nurse (full time) to join our Head Office team in Southport.

The position will undertake Community Nursing services predominantly in the Gold Coast area, but is still part of our Head Office team and fun!

On your nursing run you will see a variety of clients with complex wounds, catheters care, insulin administration and provide other clinical care procedures as required.

In between your regular clients, you will have the opportunity to undertake comprehensive health assessments, wound, diabetes and continence assessments. We do service all of south east QLD so you may on occassion be travelling to North Brisbane, Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and around the Gold Coast to undertake some of these assessments.

In between clients, you will come into our Head Office in Southport, where you participate in all things Head Office - coffee/juice runs, morning teas, Friday drinks and get to hang out with Winnie our office pooch, that keeps us all smiling!

A car is provided with this role, so there is a designated car that you get to spin around in, whilst you are out and about seeing our clients!

There is scope in this position to also get involved in providing education and training to Support Workers and Community Nurses!

To be successful in the role, ideally you will have (we don't expect someone to have everything on our list! we are happy to train and educate where required):

Full, unrestricted AHPRA registration

Minimum of 2+ years' community nursing experience required

Ability to work collaboratively in our multidisciplinary team

Assess, plan and implement client centred care within your scope

Undertake comprehensive health assessments, wound, continence and diabetes assessments and associated reports

Undertake nursing services such as wound management, catheter changes, diabetes management, medication management, dysphagia management

Confidence in managing your time effectively, including the ability to work autonomously and part of a team

Experience in providing training and support to others

Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills

Well-developed interpersonal skills that you use to establish rapport with clients

Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screen Clearance or willingness to obtain

Legal working rights in Australia

First Aid and CPR

Current Australian Driver's licence

Remuneration is paid above the Nurses Award rate of pay

Want to make some extra cash?

You will need to be available every 10-12 weeks to participant in our on-call roster.

When you do participate in the weekend on call roster you will be paid an additional $1000 for the weekend. Phone is active Friday 4pm – 8pm, Saturday 6am – 8pm, Sunday 6am -8pm.

Don’t worry, you don’t go on the On Call roster until you are fully settled into your role and are deemed confident!
