About the role
You will be working with the passionate Aspire Events & Catering team to deliver exceptional events – from glamorous VIP dinners for 500 guests, intimate gatherings to conferences, workshops and meetings, offering a broad and diverse scope to showcase your talents across multiple areas. You will bring strong operational expertise, attention to detail and quality customer service to help bring the Aspire team to be the premier function and event centre in the Illawarra.
Most events take place on the University of Wollongong campus, offering a unique and diverse environment to showcase your expertise.
In this hands-on role you will
Lead and inspire the front of house team to deliver high-quality events with a strong focus on customer service
Collaborate with internal and external clients on event planning and execution.
Bring your own creative flair and expertise.
Ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all stages – from coordination and setup to seamless event delivery.
Enjoy a mainly Monday to Friday role with the occasional weekend commitment.
About you
As an energetic and passionate leader with a demonstrated history of success in the events and catering space, you will manage a vibrant team to support our venues to be known as the go to premier event centre within the Illawarra.
This is a hands-on operational role, where you will be required to work alongside teams to deliver exceptional experiences whilst complying with company policies and NSW legislative requirements. In addition, you will need to have the following experience and skills:
Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
Extensive experience in the front of house/ events space – with a minimum two years management experience
Hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing events of all sizes – from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions
Demonstrated high level organisational skills with proven experience in leading and managing a diverse team.
Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to react quickly and effectively to unexpected operational issues.
Current NSW Driver’s License
