We're currently searching for a skilled and highly motivated Road Maintenance Plant Operator to join our Works & Infrastructure Team in a full time position.

About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced and safety-conscious operator with a passion for working outdoors? We’re looking for a dedicated Road Maintenance Plant Operator to join our Works & Infrastructure Services team based at the Red Cliffs Depot. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and improving our local roads and infrastructure, operating a range of plant and equipment to support road construction, drainage, and maintenance activities. What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

- Proven experience operating plant and equipment, including skid steer loaders and truck and trailer combinations.

- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) License with the ability to obtain a Heavy Combination (HC) driver’s license within the first 6 months of employment (at your own expense)

- Relevant plant operation certifications.

- Strong understanding of road maintenance, drainage, and roadside works.

- Ability to set out temporary traffic control signage in accordance with Australian Standards AS1742 part 3 -2019.

- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with colleagues and the public.

- Computer skills and experience with software programs relevant to this position.

- Hold a current Construction Induction Card accredited by Work Safe Victoria

- Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.


Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 3 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $69,967 to $74,110 per annum including industry and maintenance allowances, plus statutory superannuation.
