The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef or Cook to join our professional kitchen team on a part-time or casual basis. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to work within a well-established and respected venue that values quality, creativity, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard in line with The Avoca Hotel’s culinary style and seasonal menu.
Assist with food preparation, menu development, and daily specials.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene practices are maintained to the highest standard.
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and broader team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Manage kitchen operations during service, maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
Support stock control, ordering, and minimising waste where required.
About You
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook within a similar quality venue.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Food Handlers Certificate preferred).
Passion for high-quality, seasonal, and locally sourced produce.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Availability to work across evenings and weekends as required.
